DTLA COFFEE SHOP TOUR
I met up with Lisa V to hit a couple of specialty coffee shops in Los Angeles’ Arts District. The homie Brandon from Daily Chela was in town, so I asked him to join us.
The first place we popped up at was Boxx.
We grabbed a couple of Costa Rican pour overs and two Costa Rican Cold Brews for good measure.
If you’ve never had a pour over, I highly encourage paying the $5-$7 dollars they typically run. You’ll note the barista here is using a scale. That’s because ratios between water and coffee impacts the flavor profile.Yeah. We did that. And then bounced. Sip and run type vibes.
The Arts District is popping with stuff to pop in your mouth. We hit another cafe and decided to try something with a Mexican twist.
It was aight. But this bag right here?
The coffee is from Veracruz, Mexico and hits with notes of walnut, caramel and candied citrus.
Like whoa.
